Motorcyclist Killed in San Marcos Crash

The 46-year-old motorcyclist was thrown onto the road during the crash

A motorcyclist has died after being thrown from his bike in a collision with an SUV in San Marcos Saturday.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office said 47-year-old Mark Robert McHose of Encinitas was riding his motorcycle eastbound on W. Mission Road around 1:30 p.m.

As he approached Pico Avenue, a 41-year-old San Marcos resident drove a GMC Yukon into the intersection from the north.

The motorcycle hit the Yukon on the front driver’s side, ejecting the motorcyclist onto the roadway.

San Marcos Fire paramedics took the motorcyclist to Palomar Hospital, where he died later that afternoon.

The San Marcos Station Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
