A motorcyclist killed after hitting a deer on an East County road Thursday morning has been identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiners' office.
Stefan Kortney Lowe, 45, was found lying on the roadway by his 2007 Ultra Classic Harley Davidson motorcycle around 4:50 a.m. on Campo Road near Tecate Road.
Next to him was the carcass of a deer.
Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene from obvious fatal trauma, according to the medical examiner's office.
An examination on his body has not been performed, so an official cause of death has not been released. Lowe was from a town called Portero, just north of the U.S.-Mexico border by Tecate.
