A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday afternoon while riding on Montezuma Valley Road near Borrego Springs.
According to California Highway Patrol, the driver lost control of his vehicle just west of Palm Canyon Drive at around 4:20 p.m., travelling across both lanes and hitting an embankment. The motorcycle was overturned and the driver was ejected.
He sustained major injuries and lost consciousness. He was airlifted to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Desert.
