More Than 300 South Bay Residents Without Power

SDG&E now estimates power will be restored for those 369 residents approximately at 11 a.m. Saturday.

More than 300 residents are without electricity following a power outage in the South Bay.

The power went off in the Rancho Del Rey, Eastlake and Otay Reservoir communities Friday night. Initially, over 4,000 residents in those communities, as well as in Chula Vista, were left in the dark around 10 p.m. San Diego Gas and Electric estimated the power would be restored around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The exact cause of the outage has not been made known, however on their website, SDG&E says they have determined a combination of factors caused a problem in the electric system.

SDG&E now estimates power will be restored for those 369 residents still affected approximately at 11 a.m. Saturday.
