More Bleeding at Copley Press

Today's Local News Staffer says 60% laid off

The Copley Press laid off more than half of the newsroom employees at Today's Local News, the Voiceofsandiego.org reported Thursday.

The weekly publication serves part of North County in conjunction with The San Diego Union-Tribune.

The paper laid off eight or nine workers on Tuesday, including reporters, page designers and copy editors, a staffer told the Voiceofsandiego.org. The staffer asked to not be named.

The publication will continue to exist separately from the Union-Tribune, according to the staffer.
