Miramar Donut Shop Robbed at Gunpoint

A man armed with a handgun robbed a Winchell’s Donuts shop in Miramar on Saturday morning, San Diego police said.

At about 5:10 a.m., the suspect entered the 24-hour donut shop at 6912 Miramar Rd. through the rear door, following a 21-year-old employee who was taking out the trash, said San Diego police Officer Frank Cali

The suspect, described as a black male wearing baggy blue jeans and a baggy, gray hooded sweatshirt, displayed a handgun and proceeded to take money from the cash register along with the employee's money and identification.

The unknown suspect fled through the back door of the shop.
