Mira Mesa High School Renames Street for 40th Anniversary

A portion of Reagan Road was renamed to Marauder Way on Friday.

Mira Mesa High School renamed a street to celebrate the school’s 40th anniversary.

The new street name, Marauder Way, will be replacing a portion of Reagan Road where the campus is located.

Prior to the senior class breakfast on June 17, Councilmember Chris Cate, Mira Mesa High School officials, Mira Mesa Town Councilmembers, and hundreds of Mira Mesa High School seniors unveiled the street signs at twelve intersections for the newly-named Marauder Way.

"Mira Mesa High School is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Renaming the street is a wonderful way to acknowledge alumni, while endowing future generations," Councilmember Chris Cate said.

The street renaming pays homage to the high school’s mascot and recognizes the contributions Mira Mesa High School students and graduates have made to the San Diego community.

With the help of the City of San Diego's Community Projects, Program & Services (CPPS) Funding Program, Councilmember Chris Cate's office gave $3,900 to the Mira Mesa Town Council for the costs of renaming the street and installation of the new signs.
