Did X-Ray the Minister Do It?

Police suspect there may be more victims

A man who police said worked with several churches in San Diego and Riverside counties as a minister and music teacher is under arrest on suspicion of sexual assault.

The El Cajon Police Department said Tuesday that Jimmy Robinson, 47, -- who is known as X-Ray -- was arrested over the weekend in downtown San Diego by the U.S. Marshal's fugitive task force.

Authorities began investigating X-Ray in September 2008, after an alleged victim came forward. Police allege Robinson used his position as a mentor to build relationships with troubled boys. β€œHe's the type of person who gets in good with a family or group of people and manipulates people," said Lt. Tim Henton of the El Cajon Police Dept.

β€œIn these cases, some of the kids have had problems. They're kids who may not have been on the straight and narrow and so maybe the parents may have been looking for help," said Henton.

Authorities said DNA evidence linked the El Cajon victim to the man who was arrested.

Robinson was arraigned Tuesday and charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious acts with children, and one count of oral copulation of a juvenile.

There are two similar cases where Robinson was named a suspect during the past eight years, according to investigators. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 619-579-4218.

"We think especially because of the people he targeted, there may be more victims out there who have been hesitant to come forward," said Henton.
