Two women and a teenager found dead inside a Rancho Santa Fe home in a grisly murder-suicide this week all died of multiple stab wounds, authorities revealed Friday.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department (SDSO) released new details on the mysterious case, including the names of the women and teen and manner of their deaths.
The SDSO officially identified the adults as Ihnwon Mia Shin, 56, and Sayeh Amini, 52, and the girl as 15-year-old Hannah Arya.
The sheriff’s department said the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s (ME) office had completed the autopsies on the bodies and confirmed the manner of death for both Shin and Hannah was homicide. Both victims suffered multiple sharp force injuries, the SDSO said.
SDSO Lt. Kenn Nelson told NBC 7 the victims were stabbed to death, likely with a knife. He said multiple knives were found inside the home but homicide detectives are still investigating the murder weapon.
"Unequivocally, there was no firearm found in the home," Nelson said.
Amini is the suspect in the homicides, officials said.
She also died from multiple sharp force injuries but her manner of death was determined to be suicide. Nelson said Amini also used a knife to kill herself.
The bodies of the murder-suicide victims were discovered on Monday around 11:50 a.m. inside a sprawling home located in the 17000 block of Via De La Valle in San Diego’s North County.
Nelson said a 911 call was made by one of Hannah's friends and an adult who had been with the teenager before she was killed. The caller reported possible child abuse at the home.
Nelson said no signs of abuse, beside the deadly stab wounds, were discovered on Hannah's body. He said the caller was likely aware of some arguments that had occured inside the home and wanted deputies to arrive at the home as quickly as possible.

SDSO detectives have not released details on the motive behind the murder-suicide but Nelson said investigators are looking into possible financial issues and mental health issues involving the suspect.
NBC 7 spoke with Carl Starrett Thursday night, an attorney representing Amini’s family. Starrett told NBC 7 Amini was the sister of Michael Arya, the owner of the Rancho Santa Fe home.
Michael died of cancer on April 14 and had lived at the property prior to his passing.
Starrett said Michael had appointed Amini to manage his affairs after his death and the responsibility of handling her late brother’s estate became overwhelming for Amini.
“It’s just a horrible situation," Starrett told NBC 7.
According to court documents obtained by NBC 7 Friday, Amini was named the trustee of Michael's estate, which included the home on Villa De La Valle valued at more than $1 million.
Documents also show that Susan Wagner, Hannah's mother and Michael's ex-wife, filed an order for $125,000 for emergency relief after Michael's death to pay for child support and attorney's fees, among other things.
