Sherman Elementary School was locked down after someone reported a man with a knife

A man trying to break up a fight between two juveniles used a knife chase them away in Grant Hill, causing a brief school lockdown, according to San Diego police.

Just after 2 p.m., the police department received a call about a man chasing someone with a knife.

Officers discovered the incident began when a man saw two juveniles fighting outside. As he tried to break them apart, the kids started fighting the man.

Police say the man decided to go inside, grab a knife and drive the juveniles away.

Authorities at Sherman Elementary School received the report of a man with a knife, so they decided to lock down the school as officials investigated.

When officers arrived, they saw two juveniles running from the scene. However, police did not find the kids or the man involved.
