An evicted tenant of a home in Bay Terraces attempted to set fire to the porch by using gasoline, according to officials.
The man poured gasoline on the front porch of 7732 Gold Crest Lane then lit it on fire, said police. Tenants were able to extinguish the flames before the fire department arrived.
Officials said there is minimal damage to the residence.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large, according to police. He is related to people who currently live in the building.
