Man Tied to Death of Slain Officer in Court

The man, who officers were looking for when they entered the apartment where San Diego police officer Chris Wilson was shot and killed, was in court on Friday for a probation violation hearing.

Alex Charfauros, 26, was taken into custody at the scene just prior to the shooting death of Chris Wilson.

Officers were looking for him, because he had allegedly violated probation for a felony DUI. After police forced their way in to the apartment where Charfauros was holed up, a gun battle ensued in a backroom where, Ho Lim Lee allegedly shot and killed Wilson and Lucky Xayasene.

Ho Lim Lee died of a self-inflicted gun wound.

Charfauros admitted in court to testing positive for a controlled substance. Probation officers are recommending he serve two years in state prison.

Charfauros has not been charged in the death of Officer Wilson.
