Man Stabbed in Face, Chest During Robbery Attempt

Stabbing occured in the 200 block of S. Santa Fe Drive near E. Broadway, officials said

A 58-year-old man was stabbed in his face and chest during a robbery attempt in Vista Friday night, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

At about 10 p.m., deputies found the victim lying on the ground in a parking lot in the 200 block of S. Santa Fe Drive near E. Broadway after being dispatched to the scene, officials said.

Officials said the man was stabbed with some sort of folding knife when he confronted a robber in the parking lot sometime earlier.

The man sustained non-life threatening injuries in the stabbing and was transported to an area hospital.

Deputies searched an area surrounding the parking lot and located the stabbing suspect, who they identified as a 47-year-old woman.

The woman was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.
