Unknown Suspect Shoots at 3 Men From Across Street in North Park

A 27-year-old man was shot in the shoulder by an unknown suspect in the 3400 block of 30th Street early Saturday morning just before 3 a.m., according to San Diego Police.

The suspect shot at the victim and two of the victimโ€™s friends from across the street multiple times before leaving east on Upas Street, possibly in a black Chrysler 300. Witnesses told NBC 7 the victim was just walking home.

North Park resident David Merrill lives nearby. "I heard three unmistakable gunshots," he said. "My dog started freaking out."

Merrill says he likes the neighborhood but is concerned about recent events.

"We had the incident the other month when the guy killed someone, and now thereโ€™s gunshots outside my window at the bar that I was at the other night," he said. "Itโ€™s pretty wild. Seems ridiculous."

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be OK.

The other two men were not injured.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin man wearing a black hoodie.

Mid-City Division Detectives will be handling the investigation.
