A homicide investigation is underway in Spring Valley after reports of shots fired outside an apartment complex.
A man was found by San Diego police with at least one gunshot wound just after 1:30 a.m. in an alley near the intersection of Delrose Avenue and Elkton Boulevard, San Diego County Sheriff's Department Lt. Rich Williams said.
Despite medics' efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
SDSO homicide detail was called and an investigation was launched. SDSO said they did not have any suspects identified.
Police were still investigating whether the shooting was gang-related, Williams said.
