Man Killed in New Year's Eve Shooting

A man was shot to death in San Diego on New Year's Eve during a confrontation between two groups of arguing people, police said.

The killing took place at about 10 p.m. at a home in the 7600 hundred block of Dancy Road in the San Diego neighborhood of Mira Mesa

According to investigators, the 29-year-old man, Andy Ho, was lying in the street when they arrived. Paramedics and others were futile in their attempts to administer life-saving measures. The San Diego man was pronounced dead at about 10:15 p.m. 

Detectives said that the two groups confronted each other on a front porch of a residence on the street. While they were arguing, the killer pulled out a weapon and fired once at Ho, hitting him in the abdomen.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the killing.
