A man was taken into custody Thursday for activating an emergency brake on a train traveling north of San Diego.
San Diego Police responded to the tracks in Sorrento Valley after someone reported a man used the emergency brake while riding on a North County Transit train.
The man then jumped off the train and started running towards a canyon.
Officers found the man near Mira Mesa Boulevard and Scranton Road and took him into custody.
The police activity prompted NCTD to temporarily stop service.
