A man's body has been found inside a burning home in San Carlos, firefighters said.
The fire broke out Wednesday morning on the 6200 block of Spruce Lake Drive.
San Diego firefighters knocked down the flames in about 15 minutes. Inside, they found a middle-aged man's body.
The man possibly fell asleep with a lit cigarette, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
There were no signs of foul play, firefighters said.
