A man who pushed his ex-girlfriend to her death from a second-story balcony during an argument has been convicted of second-degree murder in Chula Vista.
Eduardo Duarte also was found guilty of misdemeanor child endangerment.
Witnesses testified during the trial that Duarte went to Ana Valdez's Otay Mesa apartment last April for a custody exchange of their 3-year-old son began to argue with her because she had started to see another man.
Witnesses say during the argument, Duarte threw Valdez over the second-floor balcony, in front of her 12-year-old daughter.
Valdez, 41, died at a hospital several days later.
Duarte faces 15 years to life in prison when he's sentenced next month.
