Construction Worker Confronts Burglar Ransacking Home He Was Working On: PD

Authorities have issued a Be On The Lookout (BOLO) for the car involved.

An Escondido man interupted a masked buglar ransacking a home, Escondido police said. 

The construction worker came home to a home he was working on the 700 block of Mockingbird Circle in Escondido at approximately 11:43 a.m. Monday. When he arrived, he noticed a smashed window, according to Escondido Police. 

The man walked inside and asked if anyone was inside. 

That's when he confronted a masked man, who pointed a gun at him, police said. 

The burglar escaped in a silver truck last seen on Bear Valley Parkway. Escondido Police have issued a Be On The Lookout (BOLO) for the car. 

The construction worker was not injured, police said. 

The incident is being investigated as an interrupted burglary. 

Authorities are in the area of Mockingbird and Bear Valley Parkway searching for the suspect, who was last seen wearing a mask and armed with a gun.

No other information was immediately available.
