Man Carjacked, Forced to Drive Suspects: Cops

Two suspects allegedly carjacked a man in the parking lot of his work in Palm City

Two suspects were arrested following a carjacking in Palm City Saturday evening, authorities said.

The incident began just past 5 p.m. on the 600 block of Hollister Street.

Police said a male victim drove into a parking lot in front of his workplace at a Papa John’s Pizza when two Hispanic male suspects walked up to his car, allegedly threatened him with knives and got into the vehicle with him.

According to police, the suspects forced the victim to drive to Palm City Liquor where they made contact with an unknown black male for about 10 seconds. After that, the suspects forced the victim to drive some more around the area before telling him to go to the Auto Zone located at 1344 Palm Ave.

The suspects then got out of the car and fled on foot. The victim was not injured.

The victim called police and a short time later, SDPD officers arrested one of the suspects. Sheriff’s deputies found the second suspect in Imperial Beach and took him into custody as well.

Police said the suspects were booked into jail for kidnapping and carjacking. Their names were not released.
