Man Attacked by Bees

A man who was attacked by bees in Alpine while gardening was stung at least 10 times, according to firefighters.

Firefighters were called to the 2100 block of Arnold Way at about 10 a.m. Wednesday for a medical aid call for someone who was not feeling well.

β€œThey determined that he had been stung by several bees. They counted approximately 10 stingers in the individual,” said Alpine Fire Chief Bill Paskle.

The man was transported to a local hospital.

β€œI don’t know his condition at this time,” Paskle said. β€œThere was some swelling I understand.”

Firefighters say there were two beehives at the rear of the building.

β€œAs the firefighters came back here, the bees were acting somewhat aggressive, flying into the individuals,” said Paskle.

Firefighters called in a bee removal company and cordoned off the area.
