Man Arrested For New Year's Eve Slaying

A 25-year-old man has been arrested for the New Year's Eve murder of Andy Ho, 29, police said.

The killing took place at about 10 p.m. at a home in the 7600 hundred block of Dancy Road in Mira MesaKwang Cha, 25, was at a party with several other people at a home behind the victim’s residence when an argument started between the two homes, police said.

"All of a sudden there's a big bang, I look out my window and there's a guy down in the street," said the victim's neighbor Tony Gasmin.

"Cha and three to five other male subjects left their party and walked to Mr. Ho’s home," Lieutenant Terry McManus said.  "Cha, armed with a handgun, confronted the victim on the front porch."  The fight moved into the street, that's where police say Cha shot Ho, killing him.

"Everybody's running around, everybody's crying," Gasmin said.

Police say Cha turned himself in, he was booked into County Jail on one count of murder.
