Major Pot Bust In Escondido

Police responded to reports of a burglary.

Escondido police, responding to a break-in call, uncovered a marijuana growing operation inside a business.

When officers arrived to the business in the 1200 block of Pacific Oaks Place, they were told by a neighboring business that someone had broken into the building.

However, they soon discovered the items stolen were nearly 225 marijuana plants.  Officers found grow lights and an elaborate ventilation and watering system inside.

The street value of the stolen plants is estimated to be nearly $800,000.
