Local Schools Recover from Power Outage

Schools throughout San Diego County were closed to teachers and students Friday, but campus maintenance workers spent the day throwing out food, testing computer systems and reprogramming air conditioners that were knocked offline by Thursday's massive power outage.

Though the lights were back on by Friday morning, North County educators said they were glad to have the day to recover from what power company officials have called an unprecedented outage.
