San Diego County Sheriff's Department Identifies Man Killed in Lemon Grove Shooting

Shots were fired shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday in the area of Olive and Main streets

An El Cajon man was shot and killed in Lemon Grove Saturday and law enforcement officers are asking for the public's help in solving the crime.

San Diego County sheriff's deputies responded to calls of shots fired shortly after 8 p.m. in the area of Olive and Main streets.

There they found two men with gunshot wounds, Lt. Rich Williams said.

Both were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

On Monday, deputies identified one of the men as Henry Weaver, Jr., 29, of El Cajon. 

Weaver died from a gunshot wound and his death has been ruled a homicide, deputies said. 

The second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was expected to survive. 

There was some type of altercation that led up to the shooting but investigators do not have any other information at this time, Williams said.

No arrests have been made.
