Kroc Center 1000 Toys Short for Christmas Giveaway

The Kroc Center is severely low in toys and looking for donations for Monday morning’s giveaway.

The center provides toys for about 400 families in need for the Salvation Army’s annual toy drive – and they are 1000 toys short.

Parents will come to the center to pick out toys for their kids to open on Christmas.

The center specifically needs toys for boys and girls ages six to twelve.

Janet Higley-Reade, the Kroc Center's volunteer manager, says many of these families wouldn't be able to celebrate Christmas without the toy donations.

"It would just give such joy to all of these families,” Higley-Reade explained. “So many of them are struggling so hard, and just to know even if their child got three or four extra gifts for Christmas, it would truly make just a difference for them. No child wants to be without a present on Christmas morning.”

People can drop toys off Sunday night or Monday morning as early as 6 a.m.

The address is 6845 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92115. Toys should not be wrapped.
