Poway Kidnapping Attempt Was a False Alarm

San Diego sheriffs reported a possible kidnapping attempt in Poway on Monday evening that turned out to be a false alarm

At approximately 7:35 p.m. on Monday night, San Diego sheriffs reported an alleged possible kidnapping of an eight-year-old girl on the 12000 block of Community Road in Poway, but it turned out to be a false alarm.

We first reported that police described the suspect as a 5-foot-10 light-skinned male in his 20s who was wearing all black clothing including sweatpants, boots and a ski mask with the eye holes and mouth cut out.

As it turns out, police later confirmed the case was "unfounded" and attributed it to the child's overactive imagination.
