San Diego lifeguards rescued two kayakers in trouble on Sunday.
The two young males rowed through Mission Bay and into the ocean waters off Mission Beach, according to lifeguard officials.
Lt. Nick Lerum said the kayakers were relatively inexperienced, and both of their kayaks tipped over in the choppy water.
A witness called for help, and lifeguards rescued the two kayakers just before 4:30 p.m.
The pair was taken to the hospital and treated for hypothermia.
