Jury: Man Sought Hitman to Kill Daughter's Boyfriend

A Spring Valley man was convicted Friday of dispensing wanted "dead or alive" posters for the capture of his daughter's boyfriend, a registered sex offender.

Domingos Oliveira, 49, plastered several posters on the Grossmont Community College campus where his daughter, 19 at the time, attended. He was arrested in March after the couple reported feeling threatened.

Oliveira's homemade posters offered a $3,000 bounty and included a photograph of Sean Kirk, whom his daughter was dating.

Oliveira was found guilty of soliciting murder and making criminal threats. He will be sentenced Aug. 1 and is being held without bail.

The jury was hung on a charge that Oliveira made criminal threats against his daughter.
