Jet Skier Knocked Unconscious in Mission Bay

Vessel capsized after hitting either a wave or the wake of another boat

Two people riding a jet ski in Mission Bay were knocked into the water after their vessel capsized, authorities said.

One of the people knocked off fell unconscious when the jet ski hit a large wake from another boat or a wave at about 2:15 p.m. near Crown Point Friday, according to San Diego Lifeguards.

The jet ski hit the victim in the head. Both jet skiers were both wearing life jackets, which lifeguards say saved them.

The person who was unconscious was transported to the hospital.
