Deputies Looking for Victim's Grandson and Friend

Alpine resident Eunice Cothron found dead in her mobile home Saturday

Deputies are looking for two men in connection with a murder investigation. One of the men is the victim's grandson.

Brandon Allen Hayes may be traveling with a companion, Jeffrey Reed, possibly in or near the Tijuana Border Region.

Hayes is wanted for questioning in the death of his grandmother, Eunice Cothron. The 73-year old woman was found dead in her mobile home at 2400 Alpine Boulevard about 9 p.m. Saturday, deputies said.

“Paramedics and deputies noted injuries on the victim's body that were possibly consistent with homicide,” Sgt. Roy Frank said.

Investigators say Cothron's car, a blue Toyota Avalon, is missing. They're also looking into the possibility Cothron may have taken out a restraining order against her grandson.

Hayes is described as 6 feet tall and 165 pounds. He has very short blond hair, a trim beard and has skin sores on his face.

Reed is 5-foot-2-inches, 180 pounds, with brown hair and facial acne, deputies said.
