    1. Dog Breaks Into SDPD Station in Rancho Penasquitos 

    An unusual suspect was placed into the back of a San Diego Police Department patrol vehicle after breaking into a Rancho Peñasquitos police station Tuesday. "Don’t you bark at me; you caused a big ruckus tonight," a police officer can be heard telling the dog who refused his right to remain silent. What a "ruff" night. See the video below.

    2. Serra HS Grad's Parents Denied Entry into US for Commencement

    What sounds like an awful situation turned into a really heartwarming story about persistence, patience and the power of love. Kary Munoz Lopez allowed us to follow along as she received a diploma, graduating with honors even though she has been making her way through high school without her mother and father living in the U.S. Her older sisters, her teachers and softball helped her through it. It's a story that will leave you hopeful about the future.

    A Serra High School Graduate got her diploma Monday but her parents couldn't witness it because they were unable to cross the U.S.-Mexico border.

    3. King of the North: Kawhi Leonard Wins Finals MVP

    Every Aztec alum can brag a little this week after the performance of this year's MVP Kawhi Leonard in the NBA Finals. He's the third player to win Finals MVP with two franchises, joining only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LeBron James. But San Diegans always knew he was destined for greatness.

    4. These Local Brews Named Best in California at State Fair Competition

    It's no secret San Diego County is home to some excellent craft breweries. This week, we learned that six local breweries took home first-place ribbons out of an estimated 1,250 entries in the California State Fair Commercial Beer Competition. The judging took place Friday through Sunday and included only beers brewed and available for sale in California. See those who earned the blue ribbons in our story.

    5. Avocado Museum 'The Cado' to Open in North County

    We have awesome-cado news for you, San Diego. A new pop-up museum in North County will revel in all things avocado. The Cado, an interactive pop-up museum celebrating everyone’s favorite green pitted fruit, will take guests on a journey through the avocado, from seed to skin, when it takes root in San Marcos on June 27.
