Hours Extended at County ‘Cool Zones'

Four inland county libraries will open Sunday to serve as ‘Cool Zones’ during the weekend heat wave

Those looking to beat the heat this weekend can head to four inland San Diego County Library branches that have extended their hours so locals have a place to cool off.

On Sunday, the Borrego Springs Branch, Campo-Morena Branch, Jacumba Branch, and Potrero Branch will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Normally these library branches are closed on Sundays but due to the heat wave, locals are invited to enjoy free air-conditioning, wireless internet access and, of course, reading material at the branches while escaping the scorching temperatures.

Many of the county library branches serve as official ‘Cool Zones’ during the summer.
