Hot Summer Nites Block Party

Fallbrook will kick off a “Youth, Family, and Military Appreciation” night as part of their block party summer series, starting June 25, according to a published report in the North County Times.

Hot Summer Nites 2009 in downtown Fallbrook will draw hundreds of people to Main Avenue, near Alvarado Street. Manny Gratz, president of Connections Fallbrook Networking, said this week's event is the second of six planned gatherings scheduled to take place through the end of August, each with its own theme.

In some ways, the twice-monthly events are Fallbrook's version of the weekly "Cruisin' Grand" events in Escondido, but they differ in a few key ways, with at least two of this summer's Friday nights focusing on local cuisine, said Gratz, who organizes the events.

"The way we look at it is that it's a big Fallbrook block party," he said, adding that there are no admission fees. "It's pretty much for the locals. We don't really advertise outside of our area."

Hot Summer Nites start time is 5 p.m. and will end around sundown.
