Homicide Detectives Respond to Chollas Creek Death

Homicide detectives were working to investigate a death reported at a Chollas Creek apartment Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to the suspicious death on 52nd Street and University Avenue at about 7:15 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police said the body was that of a 25-year-old woman, who may be the girlfriend of the resident's son. The county's medical examiner has yet to identify her or determine the cause of her death.

The resident told police he came home from work at about 7 p.m. after being away for the weekend and found the body in his living room.

Detectives said the resident let his son and his friends use the apartment while he was out of town.

The two men were gone when the resident returned home, according to a statement from the department.

Based on the condition of the body, detectives believe the woman has been dead for at least a day.

Authorities told NBC 7 San Diego they have not been able to contact the resident's son or the third person in the apartment over the weekend.
