Downtown’s Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel placed sixth in a recent national ranking of the nation’s top 100 group-meeting hotels by event management technology provider Cvent Inc.
Officials of Virginia-based Cvent said properties were ranked on criteria including total requests for proposals, awarded RFPs, total room nights requested, awarded room nights, and market share in the metro area. To qualify, hotels needed to have more than 50,000 square feet of total meeting space and 10 or more meeting rooms.
Aria Resort &Casino in Las Vegas placed first in this year’s annual ranking by Cvent, operator of a cloud-based enterprise event management platform with more than 12,650 customers worldwide, officials said.
Hotel operators said the 1,190-room Hilton San Diego Bayfront, at One Park Boulevard, has more than 165,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel recently added higher-speed Internet services and a new Media Lounge with plasma TVs and computers.
Local
The property, located next-door to San Diego Convention Center, is the local region’s third-largest hotel by room count.
