Hiker in Distress Rescued Near Mission Trails

Crews responded to a hiker experiencing chest pains Monday afternoon

Emergency crews responded via helicopter to a hiker experiencing chest pains in Mission Trails Regional Park on Monday.

The man was in distress when he called on San Diego Fire Rescue at about 3:20 p.m. Monday.

He complained of chest pains, but was conscious and breathing, authorities with the Fire Department said.

The emergency crew located the hiker with a helicopter and assessed him on the trail. He was then transported to the hospital via ambulance.

The chopper cleared the scene at about 3:45 p.m. Monday.
