Man's Body Found in La Jolla Sea Cave

    Lifeguards respond to a 911 call at La Jolla Caves on Monday.

    A person walking along the top of the caves just north of La Jolla Cove fell to their death on Monday evening.

    A witness called 911 shortly before 5 p.m. saying they saw a man fall into the cave.

    Lifeguards then entered the cave by boat and discovered the body of an unidentified man on the rocks at the bottom of the cave.

    The name of the victim will not be released until the family is notified. He appeared to be in his 60s officials said.

    Police and lifeguards are still investigating the cause of the fall.
