Here We Go Again: More Layoffs Loom in Encinitas

More than 30 nonteaching employees (34 to be exact) with the San Dieguito Union High School District could get preliminary layoff notices if the board approves a recommendation at its meeting Thursday.

In addition to those employees who could lose their jobs, another 27 could have their hours reduced next year.

Employees receiving these notices include aides, computer technicians, office assistants, librarians and security guards.

Receiving a preliminary layoff notice doesn't necessarily mean an employee will be let go but districts are required to inform employees if they are in danger of getting laid off, reported our media partner, the North County Times.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Encinitas district office.
