CHP: Driver who cause crashed suffered minor injuries.

Two people were killed Friday morning after a head-on collision in East County.

A woman driving south on state Route 67 just south of Archie More Road apparently did not see that traffic in front of her had stopped, CHP Officer Russ Brean said. She swerving into oncoming traffic and hit a car with a man and woman inside, according to the CHP, who said the man and woman died instantly.

Both victims were wearing seat belts, but car they were in was not equipped with airbags. Officials have not identified the victims, but the CHP said the car they were riding in was was registered in Tijuana.

The woman who caused the accident suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
