“Gumby” Robber Pleads Not Guilty

"Gumby" robber and accomplice could go to jail for three years if convicted

The man who attempted to rob a 7-Eleven in Rancho Penasquitos in a “Gumby” suit pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday morning.

Kiss and his accomplice, 20-year-old Jacob Giramma, were charged with misdemeanor by the district attorney’s office.

The pair could go to jail for three years if convicted.

Jacob Kiss, 19, walked into a 7-Eleven on Sept. 5 wearing the bright green outfit, but was laughed off the crime scene by the store clerk. He did not take anything from the convenience store.

San Diego police confiscated the “Gumby” costume when the men turned themselves in a week after the robbery.

Kiss and Giramma will return to court on Nov. 23.
