The Grand Del Mar resort in Carmel Valley recently ranked fourth overall, and first among California properties, in the latest annual global ranking of luxury resorts by Travel + Leisure magazine.

L’Auberge Del Mar placed 34th, Rancho Valencia in Rancho Santa Fe ranked 37th, and Rancho Bernardo Inn placed 47th.
The magazine’s 18th annual “World’s Best Awards” tallies up the top global travel experiences based on reader surveys. The latest results are featured in the magazine’s August digital edition and will be in its August print issue hitting newsstands later this month.
Survey categories include room features, location, service, food and value. A statement from the Grand Del Mar noted that the resort’s spa also ranked among the top five spas in the continental United States.
