A man who was trying to break up a fight between two couples in Pacific Beach was stabbed repeatedly.
The 30-year-old victim told police he saw two males and two females fighting in the alley north of the 800 block of Garnet Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. He said he tried to break up the fight but the suspects stopped fighting each other and instead assaulted him.
The victim was stabbed four times then staggered four blocks away before getting help, police said. His attackers, who remain on the loose, fled on foot.
