The driver of a rented moving van crashed into a fire hydrant near the corner of University and Rolando around 2:50 a.m. Monday.
The hydrant was knocked off in collision with the U-Haul van.
Water shot from the hydrant and flooding a section of the parking lot of a small shopping center. The excess water flowed down a nearby street.
Utility workers turned off the water in order to repair the damage.
