Gay Men's Chorus to Hold Holiday Auditions

Although the weather outside may not be frightful, the singing should be delightful.

The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus will hold open auditions for their annual holiday show beginning Wednesday, September 9.

The Chorus will be celebrating its 30th anniversary with the winter themed show 'Jingle' on December 12 and 13 at the Balboa Theater in Downtown.

The chorus has more than 200 members making it one of the largest gay choruses in the world.

An informational meeting will also be held September 9 at 7pm. Anyone interested in singing or volunteering behind the scenes is welcome.

“If you love to sing, volunteer and have fun, then this is the place to be,” said SDGMC Executive Director Bob Lehman. “We have a really great group of people and singing together at the holidays makes it extra special for all of us. You’ll make friends and memories that last a lifetime.”

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 7pm, Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. and Sunday Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. Chorus alumni don’t need to audition.

Auditions and the meeting will be held at the University Christian Church at 3900 Cleveland Avenue in Hillcrest.
