3 Stabbed in Gaslamp Fight

Three men leaving the Gaslamp after last call were slashed and stabbed in their backs early Wednesday. Investigators are looking for the suspect who they say attacked because he didn't like how the men were looking at his girlfriend.

The suspect and his girlfriend were walking from the clubs around 2 a.m. when they approached three men standing outside the Starbucks at 4th Avenue and Market Street.

The suspect punched one victim in the face and then a fight broke out among the four of them according to police.

"The suspect took out a knife and began slashing the three victims," said Lt. David Rohowits with San Diego police.

Emergency crews transported the three victims to a nearby hospital. All are expected to survive their injuries.

The suspect and his girlfriend were last seen heading north on foot. Witnesses described the attacker as a tall, Hispanic man in his 30s with a thick black beard wearing black clothing.  He was with a woman in her 20s or 30s wearing a black dress police said.
