Gas Line Prompts Evacuations at Commercial

A gas line rupture halted trolley service and prompted evacuations at Commercial between 30th and 32nd Streets.

Construction crews using a backhoe to construct a fence hit a gas line accordng to officials.

Gas service was shut off to the area while repairs were made. Twenty-five residents were evacuated along with people inside nearby businesses.

As of noon, trolley service has been restored.
