A middle school was evacuated Friday morning after a natural gas line broke, according to officials.
Construction crews working near Millennial Tech Middle School in Emerald Hills just before 9 a.m. allegedly struck the gas line, prompting it to break.
Firefighters turned off the gas off and San Diego Gas & Electric is at the scene checking the situation.
The building located at 1110 Carolina Ln. was evacuated as a precaution and students will return to school as soon as SDG&E clears the scene.
No damage or injuries resulted from the break.
