A gas leak closed off a main intersection in Mira Mesa early Friday.
San Diego Police, San Diego Fire-Rescue and San Diego Gas & Electric crews responded to the corner of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Black Mountain Road just before 3 a.m.
Officers directed commuters away from the intersection initially while utility crews and firefighters assessed the risk to the public.
Before 7 a.m., the intersection was opened to traffic.
Officials closed off the public’s access to a large strip mall located near the intersection.
